PROGRAM DESCRIPTION & PURPOSE:
As part of our commitment to provide quality community education, our MetLife office offers a complimentary program of Financial Education workshops and seminars delivered at worksite (available for delivery during or after business hours).
EAP programs throughout the United States report that Financial concerns are a leading cause of employee
stress and job turnover, and that such concerns often pave the way to relationship problems and are a leading
contributor to alcohol and substance abuse problems, all of which impact productivity in the workplace1. In addition, Benefit Trends studies report that a majority of employees polled feel ill-prepared to meet their personal financial goals – especially those involving their eventual retirement2. The Financial Education program is focused on addressing this crucial employee need.
KEY POINTS & BENEFITS OF THIS PROGRAM:
The Financial Education Program provides financial education, similar in scope to what many companies currently provide in the way of health education benefits, to employees at worksite. We sometimes refer to this as “Financial Wellness”. This program goes "above and beyond" the traditional benefits-related information generally offered to employees in conjunction with insurance and retirement benefits programs. In fact, it is a wonderful complement to such programs, as it integrates and reinforces the value of employer-provided benefits through third party education and in context of the participants'
larger, personal financial picture.
· This program is offered without cost to employer/sponsor or employee/participant.
· There is absolutely NO obligation for you or your employees to do business with us
A Comprehensive Curriculum of financial topics are offered, through this program, in multiple formats allowing
individuals to receive information in whichever way best suits their needs. These approaches to disseminating
information include the following:
Workshops available on 11 financial subjects Charitable Giving, College Funding, Estate Conservation, Financial Management, Income for Life, Investment Fundamentals, Retirement Income, Retirement
Investment Strategies, Retirement Plan Distributions, Tax Strategies, The New Retirement
1. These average 60 to 90 minutes each and are available as "Lunch & Learns" or after-hours workshops.
2. In-depth Seminarsexploring deeper concepts usually offered in multiple segments on consecutive weeks.
